Buy a suit that is cut for you, not off a rack.
Every suit here is a ready design, photographed as we stitched it: a two or three-piece in wool blends and premium suiting, a double-breasted for the reception, a jodhpuri or bandhgala for the wedding, a tuxedo for black-tie evenings. You order it as shown; we cut it to your measurements in our Bhilai workshop and deliver it across India in about 10 days.
Every suit on this page is a finished design you can buy as shown. You give your measurements instead of picking S, M or L, and the suit is cut for you. Want a different fabric or lapel? Open it in the design studio.
Types of suits for men
Not sure which suit you need? Here is every kind we make, and what each one is for.
Two-piece suit: Jacket and trousers in the same cloth, the coat pant. The everyday suit for the office, interviews and evening functions.
Three-piece suit: Jacket, trousers and a matching waistcoat. Fuller and more formal, the favourite for weddings and receptions.
Single-breasted suit: One row of buttons and a notch lapel. The most versatile cut, easy to dress up or down, and right for most builds.
Double-breasted suit: Two rows of buttons, an overlapping front and peak lapels. Sharp and formal, made for receptions and winter weddings.
Jodhpuri suit: A closed-neck bandhgala jacket with matching trousers, often with a waistcoat. India's own formal suit for weddings.
Bandhgala: The high, closed-collar jacket itself, worn with trousers or over a kurta. Royal, clean and minimal.
Tuxedo: Satin lapels and trims in black or midnight blue, for receptions, cocktail nights and black-tie dinners.
Wedding suit for men: For the groom, his brothers and the guests: rich fabrics, three-piece or jodhpuri, in colours that photograph well.
Indo-western suit: A bandhgala or asymmetric jacket over trousers or churidar: Western tailoring with an Indian line.
Blazer: A tailored jacket to wear on its own, over trousers or jeans, for dinners, cocktails and smart office days.
Waistcoat: Worn with a suit to make it three-piece, or on its own over a shirt for functions.
Safari suit: Patch pockets and a belted waist: the classic Indian office and official suit.
Linen and summer suits: Lighter cloth and softer construction for Indian summers and daytime functions.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I buy a suit online at Maviinci?
Pick a suit on this page, open it and add it to your bag. At checkout you give your measurements: with our guided steps at home, from a suit or shirt that already fits you, or on a call with our team. We stitch the suit to those measurements and deliver it across India.
What is the difference between a single-breasted and a double-breasted suit?
A single-breasted suit has one row of buttons and usually a notch lapel; it is the most versatile and suits most builds. A double-breasted suit has two rows of buttons, overlapping fronts and usually peak lapels; it looks more formal and works best for receptions and evening events.
What is the difference between a jodhpuri and a bandhgala suit?
Bandhgala is the closed-neck jacket itself. A jodhpuri suit is that bandhgala jacket with matching trousers, often with a waistcoat, rooted in royal Indian tailoring and usually chosen for weddings and ceremonies.
Two-piece or three-piece suit: which should I buy?
A two-piece (jacket and trousers) is easier to wear often, for the office, interviews and functions. A three-piece adds a matching waistcoat, looks more formal, and still looks dressed when you take the jacket off, which is why it is a favourite for weddings.
Which suit is best for an Indian wedding?
For the groom, a jodhpuri, bandhgala or three-piece in ivory, wine, midnight blue or bottle green. For family and guests, a navy, charcoal or deep maroon two or three-piece. A tuxedo or a double-breasted suit suits the reception.
Is stitching included in the price of a suit?
Yes. The price shown on each suit includes the fabric and stitching to your measurements, and shipping across India is free. If it does not fit the way it should, we alter it for free.
